• How Do I Backup Quicktracer?

    Answer: QuickTracer can backup your QuickTracer data from the QuickTracer Backup menu item located under the File menu.

    Backing Up the entire QuickTracer folder:
    Because of the way Microsoft Windows™ copies certain files to a CD when using a simple drag and drop method. Windows will lock certain files when copying to CD. You should only backup the entire QuickTracer folder by using a software program specifically written for backup purposes.

    There are many backup programs available for making backup copies of the files on your computer. Please contact your computer specialist for recommendations of choosing a software program for making backups of your computer. QuickTracer does not recommend software solutions for your backup needs. There are too many variables that can impact your exact needs and this is better handled by someone in your area or by your computer manufacture.

    When using a backup software program, you should be sure to include the entire QuickTracer folder in your backup schedule. The QuickTracer folder is located in the C:\Program Files directory by default.

    Important Note: Burning a copy of the QuickTracer folder to a CD without using a backup software program, or compression program to compress the QuickTracer folder will result in problems restoring the file later if needed. Be sure that you do not rename any of the files in the QuickTracer folder, or the name of the QuickTracer folder itself. It is also important that the main QuickTracer folder be installed on your C:\ drive and located in the Program Files directory.
